About the book

Thrangu Tashi Yangtse Monastery was built by Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche on the scared site of Takmo Lujin (Offering Generously to the Tigers), also known as Namo Buddha , in Nepal. It is here in a past life that the Buddha Perfected Generosity. The monastery fosters meditation practice in its retreat centers and ritual practices in the main shrine hall. Education is promoted through an institute for higher Buddhist studies and a school for the younger monks. They all engage as well in the variety of tasks that sustain a large monastic community. Senior monks travel abroad to teach at Thrangu Rinpoche’s numeric- centers around the world.

“In fact, I believe the life a lama lives is the greatest instruction to the students who follow him or her. It is an instruction we can actually see. The lama’s deeds display the Dharma in action for us. They can instruct our hearts with the fullness of lived experience. In the lama’s actions, we can turns to Dharma, and how that Dharma becomes a path. Eliminates confusion, and how confusion, and how confusion arises as wisdom.”

The Seventeenth Karmapa Ogyen Trinley Dorje “Why are reincarnate lamas so important? A single lifetime is not long enough to perfect their activity of spreading the Dharma and maturing others. To resolve this problems, the Gyalwang Karmapa became the first reincarnate lama in Tibet, and he has continued to take rebirth lifetime after lifetime.

Since the world keeps on the changing the incarnations of the Karmapa have changed as well: they take birth and travel in different places; they have diverse quality and capacities; and they engage in a variety of activities that harmonize with people’s needs in a particular time and place-such is their deep wisdom and great compassion.” Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche
