Description
About the Book

Aesthetics is out and out philosophy and as such any dissertation claiming to have kinship with aesthetics needs to be out and out philosophical. Exactly this is the key point here in this monograph. Tagore's standing has been sought to be understood purely from this point of view. Benedetto Croce is a listless crusader on this path. The author here has taken to crocean line in furthering the cause of purely aesthetic approach to the definition, meaning and accepted classification of fine arts as suggested by the Indian concept of Pancapradipa or Hegelian concept of art in its five-fangled ramification.

The book is a departure from the usual big bodied bizarre books dishing out non-aesthetic propositions in the name of art and aesthetics.
