Preface

Swami Shri Gangeshwaranandji Maharaja was the unique personality of the last century. Words would prove inadequate to evaluate his contribution in the field of religion and philosophy in general and in the field of the Vedas in particular. He has commented upon the mantras of all the four Vedas and his unique interpretation of Satvatapaksa has attracted the attention of a common man and scholars alike.

Those who came in his contact were very fortunate. They have experienced that his presence was purifying his words. Were inspiring his teachings had everlasting effects his blessings were more than enough to liberate and his grace has made any one worthy of the descend of divine. He was illuminating all like the sun and supporting all like the earth. He was pleasing all like a gentle wind and his love was encompassing all like the sky. His teachings had quenched the thirst of all for the knowledge like holy water of Ganga. Those who had experienced his blessings are even today find themselves in the seventh heaven. He always takes came of his people his disciple his devotees even today.

Swamiji’s love for Indian culture was immeasurable. The future generation would refuse to believe that a man without physical eyes has ever walk on this earth in flesh and blood and contributed to this extent in the field of the Vedas Bhagavan-Veda the unique edition of all the four Vedas is one volume is infect a blessings to humanity in general and to Hindus in particular.

To popularize the Vedic teachings he has written Vedopadesacandrika ( a Moonlight of the teaching of the Vedas) in Hindi. It was translated by me and wife Smt. Nilam Patel in Gujarati and was published by the Sanskrit Sahitya Academy of the Gujarat State.

Swamiji has disciples all over the world. There was a demand to translate this unique work on the Vedas in English and by the blessing of Gurudeva and Swami Govidnanandji Maharaja and Swami Bhaskaranandji Maharaja I have started translating Vedopadesacandrika in English. I was fortunate enough to obtain the help of Prof. Priyavrata Bisht of Mandi who was a great devotee of Swamiji. He has rendered a great service in making this work worth publishing I have accepted his devoted service and made him my Paramarshaka for this work.

When I think about Mandi. I can not forget my first visit and Shri Pritambhia. Today he is no more but his memories are ever cherished by me. Smt. Ramaben Mr. Dinanathbhai and all their family members are yet showering upon me and my wife their love and blessing. Mr. Priya Vrata and his wife Rajaniben have treated us as their family members when I specially visited Mandi for giving final shape to this book. My last visit has added a few more friends like Mr. Sureshbhai, Rameshbhai, Prof. Neelmani Upadhyaya and others. May gurudeva bless all of them.

I am highly thankful to Swami Govindanandji Maharaja and Swami Bhaskaranandji Maharaja for their blessings and encouragement for this work. I can not forget the help of Prof. Priya Vrata but for his devoted service this book might not seen the day light. The hostility of Smt. Ramaben, Smt. Rajaniben and Smt. Sulochanaben are unforgettable.

The original work of Swami gangashwaranandji Maharaja in Hindi has the unparalleted merits of its won. It is difficult to translate them in proper manner in any other language. This is our humble effort. So whatever merits are there they belong to Swamiji and any short comings are there I humbly accept them as my limitations. The readers the lovers of Vedic religion and culture would be benefited by this book which I regard as the grace of Gurudeva.

It gives me great pleasure in noting here the help at initial state was rendered by my favorite students Dr. Urmi Shah (Dept. of Sanskrit St Xavier’s College Ahmedabad) and my friend Prof. Vijaya Pandya (Dept. of Sanskrit Gujarat University Ahmedabad) I am thankful to Mr. L.R. Mewani a true devotee of Pujay Gurudeva who has always encouraged me for rendering service to Gurudeva. Mr. Ishvarbhai Thadani the true devotee of gurudeva has help me by giving valuable suffusions I thank him who heartedly.

My thanks are due to the publisher New Bhartiya Book Corporation (Delhi) and especially Mr. Subhash Jain and Mr. Deepak Jain who have accepted to render the service of distributing this unique work of my Gurudeva. God may bless them.

Last but not the least I thank young friend Mr. Manish Parekh for type setting.

I express my dep sense of gratitude to Smt. Ratanben and my gurudeva who choicest blessings are always being showered upon me and my family. May all be happy and enjoy peaceful life with good health and great devotion to the Lord and their Gurudeva.
