Dr. Shiv Charan Sharma did his B.Sc. and M.Sc. from Agra University and Ph.D. from Rohilkhand University. He published about 30 research papers in national and international journals of repute and presented 13 papers in different conferences and seminars. He is supervising research scholars for their Ph.D. degree in the fields of Eco Physiology and Taxonomy of medicinal plants and Ethnobotany. Presently he is Senior Shahjahanpur (U.P.)

Dr. Syed Aziz Ahmad did his M.Sc from Gorakhpur University and M.Phil and Ph.D. from Aligarh Muslim University. He published 25 research papers and attended several conferences and seminars. He is supervising Ph.D. students in Organic Chemistry. His fields of specialization are chemical analysis of medicinal plants and folk medicines. Presently he is Senior Reader in the Post Graduate Department of Chemistry, G.F. College, Shahjahanpur (U.P.).

About the Book

Home remedies treatment of diseases by domestic plants find their own way since the time immemorial in India. The knowledge about the miraculous curing properties of the plants is limited to certain people and passes from one generation to another.

In the present book authors describe medicinal uses of 59 plants, which are almost used in daily life in the kitchen of Indian Homes. Botanical name, vernacular names, identification, distribution, medicinal uses have been given to each plant. The book will serve an aid for home remedies as told by our grand mothers. In the middle of night or at odd hours when drug stores are closed. This book will give some alternate ways of controlling earaches, insomnia, minor burns, coughs, eczema, sore throats etc.
