Sawai Jai Singh
Sawai Jai Singh
Description
Back of the Book

The present biography of Sawai Jai Singh relates the story of the illustrious, epoch-making and adventurous life of the famous king from Rajasthan who played a significant role in the politics of the country as the Mughal Empire disintegrated in the first half of the 18th century. A successful diplomat and connoisseur of art and literature, Sawai Jai Singh's singular achievement lies in the promotion of science and technology at a turbulent and transitional period of India's socio-political life. The biography, now being brought out in the English version, is likely to be of use to a wider readership.
