Introduction

The first edition of Sri Vidya Sri Chakra Puja Paddhati in English was published in the year 1996. A second print was brought out in 2009. Meanwhile the third edition of the Tamil book, a revised and enlarged version, was released during Navaratri in the year 2010. This book represents the English transliteration of the third edition of the Tamil book, and is being brought out in response to the growing demand from devotees.

In this edition, several additions have been made, some in the text itself. Navagraha Puja, Mandira Puja and samashti mantras for each avarana have been added. The ashtottara sata namavalis which are meant to used as upacaras following each avarana, have been chosen such that all the namavalis pertain to Sri Lalita Herself. An outline of a daily puja (nityotsava) to Sri Lalita using the Sri Sukta Vidhanam has been indicated in the section of Suvasini puja.

The Appendix has been expanded to include ashtottara satanamavalis, Lalita Sahasra Namavali, Ganapati Atharva Sirsha Upanishat, Trailokya Mohana Kavacam and Makaranda Stavaraja Stotram. Further, Rudra Vidhanam for Siva puja, homa procedure, Sri Chakra Pratishtapana Vidhih and upasaka dharma have been added. Four methods to draw the Sri Chakra have been included in this book. Among these, the second method was given to Smt. Lokanayaki Sadgunanathan by Devi's grace, and the third method is from our beloved guruji Sri Amritananda.

We wish to express our gratitude to the well known sreshta upasaka Sri Atmananda (Sri Ramesh) for his guidance and various suggestions, and his help with the additions. We are also grateful to Guruguhamba and Kriyananda for their help in bringing out this edition. We are thankful to Smt. Geetha Kartikeyan for her dedicated assistance in the preparation of the manuscript. The typesetting has been done by an enthusiastic couple, Smt. Jyothi and Sri Sunil of Bangalore. May Devi shower Her grace upon them. As always, we are thankful to Sri G. Lakshminarayan of Maruthi Graphics for printing all of the publications of this Peetam.
