About the Book

From the bestselling author of the Fakir comes a new bestseller–“The Last Marathon”. A journey into the world of the paranormal

Through the pages of this book, the author delivers this message to his readers and loved ones-

Don’t allow the world to make you bitter. Don’t allow people and so called loved ones to make you petty. Don’t let your self-respect be measured in financial terms or personal gains. Don’t ever judge people. Be happy. Be cool. Let the child within you and the madness (which your dad has passed on) always keep you young at heart. Always live life as though your Master is standing next to you, seeing you, observing you, nurturing you.

Introduction

I find it hard to believe that since The Last Marathon was first published over a decade ago, there still is so much interest in the book that it has forced me to re-print it.

Since the book was first published, much change has taken place in every sphere of my life. In all, seven books of mine have been published and three documentaries dished out to an unsuspecting audience. Science the Last Marathon was first published and now, in its third edition, I have through default or some cosmic shaggy dog mix up, channeled a few thousand times and have seen such heartening change take place amongst those who seek SHIRDI SAI’s guidance that it has made life worth living and planet earth still worth strolling through, Mankind, when left to its own device is the grunge of creation. Something the cosmic cat dragged in. but when mankind gives divinity a chance, something celestial takes place and I Have been fortunate to have witnessed spiritual transformation amongst my ‘spiritual family’.

As the Last Marathon was out of circulation, it has been photo copied and distributed amongst the curious and the initiated. It has taken on a life of its own and all I can do is help it reach lives it is meant to enrich. I no longer recognise myself in this book. There was a child in me who has long since thrown in the towel and my life has gone through various changes; some hard, some beautiful; altogether amazingly surreal. While reading the book, I have cringed at my so called sense of humour or the lack of it. But I have retained most of the editorial as requested by all those who have enjoyed the book and who wish to pass it forward.

Since the first edition, I have gone through heart break and loss and have blessed with immense gain. Personal thanks to Saina, whose love has made me the center of her existence. Thank you for living me, unconditionally; loving the man, the medium, the hippie and my restless energy. My three children, eldest daughter Vahishta, my darling son Pashaan and my youngest baby angel Meher (who I really feel has come down to hold her dad and help him live life to the fullest); always know that your dad loves you all. I may be with you physically or in spirit, but all three, enveloping you, protecting you always, my precious ones.

Don’t allow the world to make you bitter. Don’t let your self-respect be gauged and measured in financial terms or personal gains. Don’t ever judge people. Be happy. Be cool. Let the child within you and the madness (which you dad has passed on) always keep you young at heart. Always live as though your Master is standing next to you, seeing you, observing you, nurturing you. Don’t ever let HIM down. Nobody but your MASTER matters. Everyone else can go boil their beautiful heads. Always know that our Masters, SAI and MEHER, love you and are with you all, you three heart-beats of mine, always.

And when you are older and have a family of your own, once in a while, remember your dad and mom, with a smile and a JAI BABA.

Preface

I have often asked myself the reason for writing this book. I am certain that it is neither to fascinate nor to educate. There are far more engaging and absorbing books being written on varied subjects, ranging from the ridiculous to the sublime. Books written by psychics and those familiar with paranormal phenomenon abound all over the world.

I have nothing new to offer. Yes, the lectures delivered by Guru Nanak as well as the answers communicated by Meher Baba are original, but the contents are age-old. I am in on position to enlighten anybody. I can safely confess (my family and acquaintances will positively agree) that if there is a person who requires immediate enlightening, it is this author. I certainly do not want to preach. Lord love a duck, half of the problem facing mankind is that the preachers outnumber the listeners.

Could it be, that I want people to believe that not only does God exist but also that there is life beyond the grave, the crematorium or the electric chair (or in case that reader is a Zoroastrian) beyond the vulture’s belly?

If a person does not believe in God then one can do really little to convince such an individual of the soul’s immortality and its ability to communicate with the spirit and inhabitants and of other worlds. I have neither the time nor the inclination to persuade him.

I also do not have the aptitude to make believers of those who do not want to let go of their prejudices. As the Bible mentions, on one is as blind as the person who plainly refuses to see and thus, acknowledge facts.

Money cannot be the reason for such a venture. Most authors often realize somewhere between the twenty-third and sixty-seventh rejection slip that there is more money delivering the morning paper than in writing a book. There is money in a number of ventures but trying to survive by authoring books! Buddy you are fighting against badly placed odds.

It was after a lot thought that I realized the obvious. I wanted to share my experiences of the supernatural with those who enjoyed walking the mystical terrain. It was a journey I had intended to take since childhood and at the age of 30 I finally jump-started my rather rusty subconscious motor. So this is how it sort of began.
