It is only after many births as a Bodhisattva that Gautama Siddhartha attained the status of Buddha. The Bodhisattva came in the form of monkey, deep, elephant, lion and man.
In its human form, the Bodhisattva was born as the gentle Aushadha Kumar. Endowed with special powers, he spread the message of justice and wisdom tempered with compassion. This collection included stories from his childhood and from his life as special adviser to the king of Mithila. Also in the collection is the story of Mahajanaka, the deposed prince of Mithila, who wins back his kingdom through wit and wisdom.
