‘Nurturing Spirituality in Children’

The need of drawing our children back into the sphere of Hindu sanskars’ was never more urgent than it is in the new millennium. With Western culture influencing us in every sphere of life, rediscovering our roots is a necessity that cannot be ignored any longer. Recent times have witnessed a resurgence of spirituality. Once again we seem to have discovered the power and potency of our ancient mantras, shlokas and aartis! It is now our duty to bring our children into the fold of spiritually conscious human beings.

In Naman and Naman II, Times Music had emphasized how prayers inculcate in children a reverence for our ancient culture, an aspiration to live up to it, and a correct understanding of he deeper implications of life.

To bring t our children the same spiritual experiences we went through in our childhood is difficult. Yet we would like our children to understand the basic concepts, beliefs and values of our religion and this life. Inculcating in children the fundamental characteristics of our heritage is essential, and this training has to begin in their formative an most impressionable years.

Prayers have been found to be effective in kindling the sentiments to serve, to generate true affection in relationships, to inculcate persona discipline and the true spirit of leadership. We can hone the ability to express and assert one’s individuality through prayers. Moreover, it is a scientifically proven fact that the recitation of certain mantras is known to have he power to sharpen the intellect, rectify certain speech defects and improve mental and intellectual faculties on the whole. Most importantly, prayers have the power to weed out psychological in young children.

Naman constitutes shlokas addressed to the Guru, and various Gods and Goddesses who have the power to touch our lives. The shlokas and aartis are set to melodious music and presented in such a way as to be easy to memorize. Both albums seek to fuse the rituals and prayers together, thereby bringing divine orientation into young lives. Together these two albums promise excellence for our future generations!
