This bead started by being spherical but the overlaid design has given it an ablate appearance with the upper ends being flattened. A thin, drawn wire twists around the middle in a double row. A flattened circular design interspersed by twin dots circles around this twisted wire. The design rises above the spherical curve of the base of the bead, suppressing its upper curve. The eye at the edges is quite wide, giving a wide option for a twisted silken thread or a leather thong. The eye has a smooth wire around it, again tampering with the simple spherical shape but giving it grace in return.
A necklace of similar symmetrical beads can be made into a choker or an asymmetrical string can be beaded using bigger and smaller beads.
