This is a finely carved small amulet to be used as a pendent. At the center is a Tibetan monogram consisting of combined mystic syllables. The monogram is entitled "The All-Powerful Ten" and is represented in the system of Indian characters called Ranja or Lantsa. The letters are O, U, H, K, S, M, L, V, R, Y. The back of the object is plain. Three small coral and two turquoise stones are inlayed at the bottom of the object, in horizontal order. On the top, a hook has been made to hang the pendent.

This amulet protects the wearer against evil spirits etc, and is worn by Tibetan nomads. Worn as an ornament, it is also a protector of life because it holds protective contents, namely the mystic syllables.

This description by Dr. Shailendra Kumar Verma, Ph.D. His doctorate thesis being on the "Emergence and Evolution of the Buddha Image (from its inception to 8th century A.D).
