Aurangzeb, the Mughal emperor, wreaked vengeance upon Guru Teg Bahadur, the ninth guru, who had stood up for the cause of the Kashmiri Brahmins, whom Aurangzeb wished to convert to Islam. He ordered the beheading of Guru Teg Bahadur.

Aurangzeb's conflict with the Sikhs had to do with weakening of control over Punjab, and nothing to do with supposed conversion of Kashmiri Brahmins. Aurangzeb was a fundamentalist no doubt, but you cannot reduce the history to a simple fairy tale of Muslim "villainy."
