This painting shows a giant elephant of majestic proportions walking away merrily. Its trunk, lapels and ears have orange edges with darker lines and spots. It is richly bedecked with a multi-coloured brocade over blanket. Gold and enamel chains of various designs are around his body and forehead. Its trunk is raised signaling victory. The tusks are capped with metallic ornaments and the forehead is also decorated with an elaborate and unusual decoration.
The elephant depicted here is unusual in size, form and beauty, reflecting rare quality and character. Its traits are carefully studied and depicted, although it shows many stylistic features of the Akbari period. The ground is depicted with tufts of flowering plants. The picture is bound in a bright red coloured border. Golden paint is extensively yet judiciously used.
