Lakshmi, as seen here, is seated on a lotus, which itself is indicative of divinity. Dressed in a bright red attire, which exudes energy by its sheer colour, Lakshmi relaxes with one leg folded on the seat and the other pendant. She is adorned with ornaments and a gem studded crown - jewellery that justifies her title as the goddess of riches. To enhance the same, she holds a pot of gold coins in one hand and disperses them with the other. In the back two arms, she holds two lotus flowers with long stems. The lotus symbolizing fertility and life and the gold coins symbolizing prosperity, she blesses her devotees with all that one wants in life.
The artist has taken special paints to delineate the features - the lotus shaped large eyes, the shapely nose, slightly smiling lips and well defined chin and cheeks.
The background is left bare with impression of water in the foreground.
