This sari follows the Baluchari tradition of Bengal in depicting themes from the Ramayana. The body of the sari is plain and in light brown color. On the body are the butis made in deer motifs. The border of the sari is woven in red threads and has deers in the forest.

The Pallav is the interesting feature of the sari where the Ramayana theme is woven with the legendary figures of Rama and Sita in the forest. The theme is that of the golden deer for which Rama hunts for his wife Sita. The weave of the pallav in red threads adds contrast to the sari.

A must buy sari for those with a penchant for the traditional weaves.
