This sari comes in a rich navy blue color with a light silk texture. The body of the sari has small floral and leaf butis woven in golden threads and makes the sari look full. The border of the sari is woven on both sides of the sari and has the theme of 'Rama's exile in the forest', where Rama and his wife Sita are tending the deer, in front of their huts.
The Pallav is rich and interesting and has four themes from the Ramayana woven in different rows. There is the theme of young Rama and Lakshmana walking in the forest with their Guru(teacher) Vishwamitra to kill the demons. There is also the theme of Rama and Lakshmana taking control of the horse for the 'Ashwamedha Yagya'(horse sacrifice). There is again the theme of Rama chasing the golden deer in accordance with the wishes of Sita. Lastly there is the tender theme of Luv and Kush-the children of Rama and Sita learning from the teacher Vasishtha in the forest. The depiction of these varied themes on the sari and the immaculate features makes this sari a wonderful possession.
