Testimonials

Hello Vipin K., thanks a lot for replacing the 4th volume of the Srimad Bhagavatam and sending me a faultless copy of the book so fast. The faulty pagination (missing and mixed up pages) is due to the bookbinding, of course, you are not to blame. Your customer service is excellent. And as your selection of books is extraordinary, I'm already looking forward to the next books that will reach me, perfectly packed and in best condition as always. ;-)
Walter
I really found this site to be very well designed, and the number of items amazing. From my careful inspection of the high resolution photos, the quality of work appears to be outstanding.

Your custom service is great, especially Vipin. Vipin helped me locate a lost package. that was so nice!!!! I love this company. I love the cotton skirts with ruffle on the bottom. I also love how that when we place items in the shopping cart, the computer system allows them to remain in the cart until we are ready to purchase them. They don't disappear like with other on-line stores shopping cart system. Your the Best!!!
Heather Davis, USA
A true treasure vault of Bharatiya samskruti knowledge books! Thanks for this service.

Very nice website, easy to use. Your one of the few Indian website that have an extensive collection of CD's that will ship to America.I think Indian website should expand themselves into the global community China sure has. China's market growth had to do with supply and demand. The same thing could happen to India, you just have to open the doors of India and let it happen. At least you seem to be doing that.

The Bodhisattva: An Embodiment of Compassion
The pantheon of Mahayana Buddhism contains numerous Bodhisattvas. The Bodhisattva works in wisdom and love so that after many lives he may ultimately become a Buddha. Ordinary believers are encouraged to follow his example and so, eventually, achieve nirvana. Yet the Bodhisattva is a being of immeasurable charity and compassion; while suffering individuals remain in the toil of transmigration he will not leave them without help. Though the Bodhisattva is to become a Buddha, he bides his time until even the most insignificant worshipper has reached the highest goal.

Clearly, the Bodhisattva is a spirit of compassion and suffering. In the Vajradhvaja Sutra the Bodhisattva pronounces:

I take upon myself the deeds of all beings, even those in the hells in other worlds, in the realms of punishment.

I take their suffering upon me, I bear it, I do not draw back from it, I do not tremble at it, I have no fear of it.

I must bear the burden of all beings, for I have vowed to save all things living, to bring them safe through the forest of birth, age, disease, death and rebirth.

I think not of my own salvation, but strive to bestow on all beings the royalty of supreme wisdom.

So I take upon myself the sorrow of all human beings. I agree to suffer as a ransom for all beings, for the sake of all beings.

Truly I will not abandon them.

For I have resolved to gain supreme wisdom for the sake of all that live, to save the world.

"...karuna is central to the entire Buddhist tradition. It is frequently described as a love for all beings, equal in intensity to a mother's affection for her child... the defining symbol of...the Chinese assimilation of Buddhism...is the goddess...Kuan Yin...who with her sweet and merciful disposition, has won the hearts of not only the Chinese, but also profoundly affected even those who, belonging to a foreign tradition, have only had a fleeting interaction with her... Kuan Yin is the Chinese version of the male god Avalokiteshvara, whom the ancient texts eulogize as the patron deity of compassion... (She) is a symbol...of the many hued flavor of karuna, expressed through the softer wisdom of a woman... Though often images are encountered, which show her sporting a moustache, emphasizing masculinity; this is negated by the softness of her demeanor... Can anything be more subtly female than her graceful poise - modest and inward looking, yet potent enough to generate and compassionately nourish the whole outside world?"
Kuan Yin, The Compassionate Rebel
"A bodhisattva wishes to help all beings attain nirvana. He must therefore refuse to enter nirvana himself, as he cannot apparently render any services...after his own nirvana... A bodhisattva can never love the body for its own sake... he cherishes it...because he will...save someone sometime somewhere... in the moment of tribulation."
