Story revolves around how the Governor of Nedhong, who is very oppressive and miser is being outwitted by Nyichoe Zangpo. Though a common man, through his wit he outsmarts the strong and mighty in the society.

There are some eight episodes in the book, each will evoke good laughter. Although the English translation may have its own shortcoming in delivering the true flavour of the jokes and humour, we hope the readers will enjoy going through the book. The book is bilingual (English and Tibetan) with illustrations.

Aku-Tonpa is one of the most popular folk heroes in Tibetan folklore. His adventures are passed from generation to generation orally. Written material on the subject is very rare, especially in English. His exploits are full of laughter and humour. In an effort to document his stories and to recharge our sense of humour, we bring before our readers this short compilation of his exploits.

It is also said that Aku-Tonpa was sent by Lord Chenresig (protector deity of Tibet) to teach the Tibetan art of being shrewd and witty. He is known throughout Tibet under same but little different names like Aku-Tonpa, Aku-Chang etc.. In Nedhong province of Tibet, he is known by Nyichoe Zangpo.
