The Astronomical Code of the Rgveda
The Astronomical Code of the Rgveda
Description
About the Book:

This is the extensively revised edition of the classic book that presented the author's discovery of an astronomical code in the organization of the Rgveda. This code has changed our understanding of the Vedic system of knowledge, rise of earliest astronomy, history of science, and the chronology of ancient India. The work was first reported in a series of journal articles; this book brings together these discoveries between the same two covers for the first time. Some comments on this work:

  • I had suspected for long that there was something to the Rgveda which went far beyond what our philology and history could read out. Here it is!… [This is an] epoch-making discovery
    - Professor of Klaus K. Klostermaiser, University of Manitoba

  • Truly singular achievement…
    - Professor Miguel de Mora, National Autonomous University of Mexico

  • It has been shown that the numbering of the hymns in the books of Rgveda reflects the number of bricks used for building the fire altar as indicated in the Satapatha Brahmana… A monumental accomplishment.
    - David Frawley, Director, American Institute of Vedic Studies, Santa Fe, New Mexico

  • This code elegantly and effortlessly makes sense of [many] peculiarities of the Vedic tradition.
    - Bjorn Merker, Vedic scholar, Helsingborg, Sweden
About the Author:

Subhash Kak is a widely known scientist and Indologist. Currently a professor of electrical and computer engineering at the Louisiana State University at Baton Rogue. He has authored ten books and more than 200 papers in various fields. Apart from his work on Indian astronomy, he has researched linguistics, Vedic science and history.

Testimonials
I received the statue today, and it is beautiful! Worth the wait! Thank you so much, blessings, Kimberly.
Kimberly, USA
I received the Green Tara Thangka described below right on schedule. Thank you a million times for that. My teacher loved it and was extremely moved by it. Although I have seen a lot of Green Tara thangkas, and have looked at other Green Tara Thangkas you offer and found them all to be wonderful, the one I purchased is by far the most beautiful I have ever seen -- or at least it is the one that most speaks to me.
John, USA
Your website store is a really great place to find the most wonderful books and artifacts from beautiful India. I have been traveling to India over the last 4 years and spend 3 months there each time staying with two Bengali families that I have adopted and they have taken me in with love and generosity. I love India. Thanks for doing the business that you do. I am an artist and, well, I got through I think the first 6 pages of the book store on your site and ordered almost 500 dollars in books... I'm in trouble so I don't go there too often.. haha.. Hari Om and Hare Krishna and Jai.. Thanks a lot for doing what you do.. Great !
Steven, USA
