Carnatic Summer Lives of twenty great exponents
Carnatic Summer Lives of twenty great exponents
Description
About the Book:

Carnatic music has survived contrary to all the gloom and doom that was predicted. New artistes are added, new labels released and new sabhas are born every year. If Carnatic music is still head all over the world and makes an emphatic and grand statement of survival each year during the annual December season, it is because of a few great artistes who bore the art form aloft amidst crisis and threats. A colourful lot, much has been written about their lives and their lifestyles, which must have had a significant bearing on their art. All of them were powerful personalities in their own right.

This book looks at the lives of a select group of twenty such artistes who were at the forefront for most of their lives as top ranking performers.

The books arrived today and I have to congratulate you on such a WONDERFUL packing job! I have never, ever, received such beautifully and carefully packed items from India in all my years of ordering. Each and every book arrived in perfect shape--thanks to the extreme care you all took in double-boxing them and using very strong boxes. (Oh how I wished that other businesses in India would learn to do the same! You won't believe what some items have looked like when they've arrived!) Again, thank you very much. And rest assured that I will soon order more books. And I will also let everyone that I know, at every opportunity, how great your business and service has been for me. Truly very appreciated, Namaste.
