Preface

Prof. Smt. Dr. Hansaben Hindocha whom I consider my younger sister, came in contact with me long before her retirement as the Head of the Sanskrit Department of Saurashtra University, Rajkot. I have often enjoyed her hospitality, and have always held her as a symbol of Indian culture. She is the devoted student of my friend Dr. Manibhai I. Prajapati who is honoured by the President of India in the year 2011 for his contribution in the field of Sanskrit Literature.

Smt. Dr. Hansaben Hindocha was honoured by the President of India for her scholarly contribution in the field of teaching and learning Sanskrit in the year 2013. She specializes in the field of Alamkarshastra and has authored 17 books in which she has exhibited her deep and extensive study of various subject. She has organized and attended many national seminars and has presented papers in international seminars also. She has rightly been awarded and honoured in her field not only due to her merits but also her untiring contribution. She deserved our congratulations.

With a view to celebrate her success and commemorate her work, I along with Dr. Manibhai I. Prajapati of Mehsana and Shri Manibhai K. Prajapati of Gandhinagar/Patan have decided to publish a felicitation volume titled ‘Contribution of Women to Sanskrit, Pali and Prakrit Literature’. The efforts have lasted for more than two years and with the help of valuable contributions from numerous scholars of India and France. Now the volume is ready to see the day-light.

I strongly believe that this felicitation volume has unique importance as fourteen scholars who have been honoured by the President of India and others who deserve the same in future, have willingly contributed with studious and on various facets of the subjects related to the contribution of the worthy women of the past and present as well.

I whole heartedly congratulate Dr. Smt. Prof. Hansaben Hindocha for her remarkable success in the field of Sanskrit. I thank all the contributors for their valuable help in our endeavor of serving Sanskrit in general and honouring Smt. Professor Hansaben Hindocha in particular.

Testimonials
I received the Green Tara Thangka described below right on schedule. Thank you a million times for that. My teacher loved it and was extremely moved by it. Although I have seen a lot of Green Tara thangkas, and have looked at other Green Tara Thangkas you offer and found them all to be wonderful, the one I purchased is by far the most beautiful I have ever seen -- or at least it is the one that most speaks to me.

Your website store is a really great place to find the most wonderful books and artifacts from beautiful India. I have been traveling to India over the last 4 years and spend 3 months there each time staying with two Bengali families that I have adopted and they have taken me in with love and generosity. I love India. Thanks for doing the business that you do. I am an artist and, well, I got through I think the first 6 pages of the book store on your site and ordered almost 500 dollars in books... I'm in trouble so I don't go there too often.. haha.. Hari Om and Hare Krishna and Jai.. Thanks a lot for doing what you do.. Great !
