The Siddha System envisages that man should not immerse into disease and short life. So the Siddhars have bestowed many kaya kalpa drugs to the human beings to protect their diseases body. The Kayakalpa drugs enhance the body immunity to free from diseases.

This book brings out the simple common Siddha Kayakalpa drugs which are easily available everywhere. These can be consumed by all people for their healthy life. Before consuming the drug the patient has to adopt some basic procedures which are mentioned in this text. This book on Kayakalpa methods is very interesting and full of useful hints for good health and longevity.

Introduction

Siddha system of medicine is well-known unique treatment and Popular in Southern part of India. Enormous recipes have mentioned for various ailments in many Siddha texts. Kayakalpa is one of the reputed therapies in Siddha system of medicine dealing with preventing mortality, decreasing morbidity and increasing the life span. The Siddhars who conquered death and attained perfection and thereby they have discovered and endowed the valuable medicinal properties of Kayakalpa herbs and drugs to the human beings.

The Kayakalpa drugs that is capable of curing many chronic and degenerative diseases. The origin of all degenerated diseases, according to Siddha system of medicine may be due to microbiological or accumulation of toxins by products, due to malnutrition, chemical and physical changes in food assimilation. Kayakalpa drugs (Medical plants and Minerals) are to be much preferred as powerful medicaments to fight against complicated and degenerated diseases. In addition, Kayakalpa medicines are very useful for long healthy life; enhance memory, intelligence, freedom from illness, youthful feeling, lusture of complexion, strength to the physical body and sense organs.

Kayakalpa drugs have classified into general (Pothu karpam) and Specific ( Sirappu karpam). Health foods and nutraceuticals come under general Kayakalpa, may be taken by any one at anytime for the sake of attaining optimum health, beauty, longevity and consciousness and drugs consumed for specific pathological conditions which under special Kayakalpa to be taken during the period of illness and physical imbalances. In focus with simple Kayakalpa drug can use as prophylaxis and special Kayakalpa can use as curatives (Thirumoolar, 1931). According to Siddha Materia Medica, Kayakalpa formulations include Herbs, Minerals and Animal kingdom also.

Kayakalpa doest not mean restoring old to youth; it means the maintenance of youth without mere lethargy both physically and mentally. Kayakalpa prevents and brings us to a state that the body could not only be healthy but also fulfils the purpose of being healthy, becoming a person meaningful and very much in Harmony with the nature.

Ancient Siddhars have taken Kayakalpa drugs for their usage and over whelmed the ailments and achieved for long live. Intensive and concurrent researches conducted globally proved that Kayakalpa are free radical scavengers and the term rejuvenation itself means preventing the body and the cells from oxidative injuries and which enhances rejuvenation.
