Description
About The Book

Positive thoughts, Dynamic will, self-analysis, initiative, and self-control – Yogananda shows you how to use them for success. Many popular books stress one or more of these, but do not give credit to the Power behind them. For example, the cul-tivation of dynamic will flowers in attunement with the Divine Will.

This book will lead you from the power of personal action to the greater power of aligning all that you do with God's will.

Paramhansa Yogananda (1893-1952), one of the first teachers to bring yoga to the West, emphasized direct inner experience of the Divine, which he called "Self-realization." His teachings offer a practical approach to inner awakening.

In his early years in America, Yogananda wrote lessons and articles that are no longer Widely available. The writings in the Wisdom of Yogananda series are drawn from the sources.

In this powerful and practical book by one of the foremost spiritual teachers of modern times, you will gain both the motivation and the tools to transform your life and to find the success you seek-both materially and spiritually. Included in this book are:

• How to find your purpose in life
• How to develop habits of success and eradicate habits of failure
• How to develop your will power and magnetism
• How to find and thrive in the right job
• The complete text of The Attributes of Success, the original booklet later published as The Law of Success

Use Yogananda's How to Be a Success as your handbook, and begin today to take effective steps toward the material and spiritual success you are seeking.

About The Author

Born in India in 1893, Paramhansa Yogananda was trained from his early years to bring India's ancient science of Self-realization to the West. In 1920 he moved to the United States to begin what was to develop into a worldwide work touch-ing millions of lives. Americans were hungry for India's spiritual teachings, and for the liberating techniques of yoga.

In 1946 he published what has become a spiritual classic and one of the best-loved books of the 20th century, Autobiography of a Yogi. In addition, Yogananda established headquarters for a worldwide work, wrote a number of books and study courses, gave lectures to thousands in most major cities across the United States, wrote music and poetry, and trained disciples. He was invited to the White House by Calvin Coolidge, and he initiated Mahatma Gandhi into Kriya Yoga, his most advanced technique of meditation.

Yogananda's message to the West highlighted the unity of all religions, and the importance of spiritual devotion combined with scientific techniques of meditation.

Publisher's Note

In this book Yogananda shows you how to develop the unlimited powers that come from innermost forces of your being.

Paramhansa Yogananda came to the United States from India in 1920, bringing to the West the teachings and techniques of yoga, the ancient science of soul awakening. He was the first master of yoga to make his home in the West, and his Autobiography of a Yogi has become the bestselling autobiography of all time, awakening fascination in Westerners with the spiritual teachings of the East.

Yoga is the ancient science of redirecting one's energies inward to produce spiritual awakening. In addition to bringing Americans the most practical and effective techniques of meditation, Yogananda showed how these principles can be applied to all areas of life.

The articles included in this book are taken from several sources: the lessons he wrote in the 1920s and 1930s, articles of his that appeared in Inner Culture and East West magazines published before 1943, and the booklet The Attributes of Success published in 1944. Most of what is included here is not available elsewhere.

Our goal in this book is to let the Master's spirit come clearly through, with a minimum of editing. Sometimes sentences, redundant in the present context, have been deleted. Sometimes words or punctuation have been changed to clarify the meaning. Great care was taken not to change any of the original intention.

We hope you will use Yogananda's words as stepping- stones to the success you are seeking.
