Humour From Hyderabad
Humour From Hyderabad
Description
About the book

Humour from Hyderabad is a collection of thirty comic episodes that emanate from the ordinary, everyday instances as effective catalysts of humour. Seen from the eyes of a professor in the city of Nizams, the humorous situations and characters not only tickle your funny bone but also teach you how to rejoice life come what may. The variety of situations, characters, interests, obsessions, aspirations give an ample idea of how we are all fools of life without knowing about it. The healthy family feelings, friendly sentiments, parental affection, and professional contentment can induce abundant joviality in one’s humdrum existence. The pieces in this collection give a testimony to the fact that life has in it an inbuilt mechanism of automatic titillation to further its onward flow. Fresh from the garden of life, this bouquet of diverse hues and colours, each with its own amusing illustrations, will have you splitting with laughter.

About the Author

Sukhbir Singh holds a Doctorate in English literature and teaches at osmania University, Hyderabad. His critical and humorous pieces have appeared in prominent journals in India and abroad. Besides, Singh writes songs, poems and short stories with a distinct native flavour of Haryana. He believes in making friends and taking life as a creative enterprise of comic nature.

Thank you so much for shipping Ma Shitala.  She arrived safely today on Buddha Purnima.  We greeted Her with camphor and conch blowing, and she now is on Ma Kali’s altar.  She is very beautiful.  Thank you for packing Her so well. Jai Ma

Great site! Myriad of items across the cultural spectrum. Great search capability, too. If it's Indian, you'll probably find it here.
Mike, USA
I was very happy to find these great Hindu texts of the ancient times. Been a fan of both Mahabhratham and Ramayanam since I was a small boy. Now the whole family can enjoy these very important cultural texts at home.
