Hymn to Goddess Durga: The Destroyer of Mahishasura (With Transliteration & Translation)
Description

From the Book:

Oh Mother! The source of joy for the mountain king (daughter of Himavan), the gladdener of the Universe, the mystery of the Universe (being its creator) the one worshipped by Nandin, the one abiding in the Vindhyas which is the best among the mountains, the source of joy for Vishnu (being his sister), the one saluted by Indra, the one belonging to the family of Siva, the one having the entire world as the family, the one granting more and more benefits.

Oh! The daughter of the mountain, the one sporting beautiful matted locks of hair, victory to Thee, Oh, goddess, the destroyer of the demon Mahisha.

Oh Mother! The showerer of boons for the gods, the subjugator of the wicked forces, the destroyer of the evil faced ones, the one enjoying the bliss, the nourisher of the three worlds, the one adding to the pleasure of Sankara, the remover of the sins, the one revelling in elation, the queller of the pride of the demons, the one that is infuriated at the demons, the one that dries up the pride of the enemies, the daughter of the ocean.

Oh! The daughter of the mountain, the one sporting a beautiful matted locks of hair, victory to Thee, Oh, goddess, the destroyer of the demon Mahisha.

Oh! The mother of the Universe, oh my mother, the one living joyfully in the garden of Kadamba trees, the one sporting a sweet smile, the one having an abode right on the peaks of the lofty Himalayas, the one enjoying a slip of honey, the destroyer of the demons Madhu and Kaitabha, the one having a victory laughter at the destruction of Kaitabha.

Oh! The daughter of the mountain, the one sporting a beautiful matted locks of hair, victory to Thee, Oh, goddess, the destroyer of the demon Mahisha.

Oh Mother! Who condemned the enemies and cut them to hundred pieces, the one who destroyed the Elephant faced demon by cutting his trunk down, the one riding on the lion that vanquished the elephants of the enemies by ripping them off and by tearing the cheeks of the enemies, the punisher of the mighty demons by cutting them down, the one who brought down the commander-in-chief of Munda

Oh! the daughter of the mountain, the one sporting a beautiful matted locks of hair, victory to Thee, Oh, goddess, the destroyer of the demon Mahisha.

Oh Mother! Possessor of irrepressible strength of the gods that is evident from the destruction of the enemies that were haughty on the battlefield, the one that sent the leader of the host of (Saivite) attendants, Lord Siva, who is an expert in clever counselling as a messenger to the demons, causing the destruction of the messenger of the powerful demons who had evil designs.

Oh! the daughter of the mountain, the one sporting a beautiful matted locks of hair, victory to Thee, Oh, goddess, the destroyer of the demon Mahisha.

Testimonials
Thank you very much. Your sale prices are wonderful.

Kailash Raj’s art, as always, is marvelous. We are so grateful to you for allowing your team to do these special canvases for us. Rarely do we see this caliber of art in modern times. Kailash Ji has taken the Swaminaryan monks’ suggestions to heart and executed each one with accuracy and a spiritual touch.
