Santosh travels alone from Mumbai, where he lives with his mother, to Kolata, on holiday. But he has secret plant to look for his father whom he barely remembers. Mini Shrinivasan lives and works in Pune where she writes for children, develops educational radio programmes, works with teachers and children rural schools, and is part of a child rights advocacy group. She particularly likes writings for pre-teens, whom she finds bright, feisty, and fun.
