I thank the B.R. Publishers for bringing out this volume of my essays. It was Brojendra Nath Banerjee's idea. I am grateful to him for the suggestion.
It is in three parts. The first part deals with the burning issues of the day. The essays contained in the second part fall in the twilight zone, though they are now part of history. The essay on Nehru-Birla relationship had been germinating in my mind for a long time; it was triggered by the publication of Ghanashyamdas Birla's correspondence with the Nehrus. The third part is historical in character.
The essay on Subhas Bose uses material not widely known to our people. I thank Sisir Bose, Director of the Netaji Research Bureau, for making available to me an English translation of the German language report on Netaji's meeting with Hitler. I also thank Govind Talwalkar for lending me a book published in Germany a perusal of which brought the most unexpected corroboration of my speculation about a meeting between Subhas Bose and the famous German geopolitician, Haushofer.
The publication of the collected works of Marx and Engels has convincingly substantiated my long held view of their pronounced Western bias and the attitude of contempt for non-Western peoples and civilizations.
