Description
About the Book

Hinduism is not a religion far less a religious sect. it is not a philosophy of life. It is a style of living, an integrated approach to human life based on the fundamental facts of human nature and man's status in the Universe. The style and characteristic approach of Hinduism is multi-sided, eclectic, synoptic, integrated and developmental. This will undoubtedly playa significant role in the future development of humanity. This is the rationale, if a rationale is required at all for this critical summary of the wisdom of the Hindus in this book. It is meant not only for Hindus but for all those who admire such an approach. As the material to be presented in this book is comprehensive. The book contain chapters on the foundations of Hindu wisdom, Hindu saints and savior's and the contribution of Hindus in philosophy, civilization, culture, social stratification, individual and social life, family, the status of women and marriage.

Dealing with almost all aspects of the Hindu religion, civilization, culture and social institutions and summarizing Hindu contribution to various fields of knowledge and skill, this book s is a significant contribution to world literature at the juncture of the present meeting of East and West and the development of a global human culture. It will be useful to every thoughtful Indian to find out his ancient roots. It will be equally useful to every enlightened human being in every country to know the contribution of the pioneers of culture and civilization on this planet.
