Inroduction

It was my unquenched desire to provide Ghana Paathaa in script form to people, who, either did not have opportunity to pursue formal Vedic studies or has not reached Vikruti Paathaa during their studies, but have enthusiasm to recite some part of Ghana paathaa. Now a day, finding a qualified Ghanapathi is a very difficult task, since it takes a very long time to undergo the difficult part of their curriculum, like enormous portion in Samhita itself, and different kinds of rules (Lakshanaa) for Vikruti Paathaa etc. Hence to become Ghanapathi in Veda would take more years.

After writing Ghana Paaatha for Sri Rudra, Chamaka, Pancha Rudra, Yajur Asirwada Ghana Patha (Vol-1,2,3) I decided to write this Special Suktas from Rig Veda, which is having more meaning, easy to recite and understand, so that learners can recite these mantras in any occasion for blessing.

It is also important to note, many people asked for these after above-mentioned works was released, because they have interest in learing. As I said in my earlier books, it is my duty to consider all your valuable feedback to improve as much as possible. Futher it is my duty to disseminate the knowledge God has given me on this subject.

To know more about fundamentals of The Veda, Origin of Mathematics, Time, Astrology, Nakshatra, Branches of Vedas, meaning of Chamaka, meaning of some important Mantras etc, kindly refer the following books by the Author:

1. Sri Rudra Ghana Patha in Devanagari Script - Krishna Yajur Veda

2. Sri Rudra Ghana Patha in Phonetic Tamil Script - Krishna Yajur Veda

3. Pancha Rudra Ghana Pata in Devanagari Script - Rig Veda

4. Chamaka Ghana Patha in Devanagari Script - Krishna Yajur Veda

5. Chamaka Ghana Patha in Phonetic Tamil Script - Krishna Yajur Veda

6. Asirwada Ghana Patha (Vol-1) in Devanagari Script - Krishna Yajur Veda

7. Asirwada Ghana Patha (Vol-2) in Devanagari Script - Krishna Yajur Veda

8. Asirwada Ghana Patha (Vol-3) in Devanagari Script - Krishna Yajur Veda

This book provides Mantras from various Suktas its meaning with some commentary if required. I will be much obliged to the readers, for their valuable feedback, in rectifying the book, in case they find any errors. Though utmost care has been taken during preparation, I sincerely regret for any errors, that might have occurred or appearing in this book, and request the readers not to consider it seriously with their nobility.

Those who are learning with the help of this book could approach the Vedic scholars for correct pronunciation, maatraa, svaraa etc. It is important to note, learning through Guru (teacher) with due respect would be permanent and good to us, as advised by our forefathers.

At this juncture, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Shri. B.V. Suryanarayana Bhat Ghanapatigal, Mylapore, Chennai for his utmost patience, time provided to me, devotion to Vedas and sacrificing attitude as an adyapakar (teacher), under whom I am learning Rig veda Samhita and Ghana Paatha.

I would also like to thank the great people who have provided me with lot of technical, legal, financial, translation help, without which, I am not able to release these books with full confidence and faith. There is no need to say, the readers could realize, lot of man-hours and money have been deployed, to bring the book in to this shape. I sincerely solicit your patronage to make this venture a success, which rest with the people like you, who are interested in learning the Veda. I would also like to thank the publisher of this book Smt. Latha for all her effort.

For easy reference, the index has the name of the Sukta along with page numbers. Further, references to the Mandala, Sukta and Mantra numbers (as in Rig Veda Samhita) are also given. Moreover, Name of Rishi, Devata to which the Mantras are attributed, its Chandas (Metre) are also provided in appropriate places, so that one can do the Veda Parayana confidently and in traditional way. This book covers approximately 1000 Mantras ·of the Rig Veda Samhita. Now let us analyse Rig Veda in limited scope and know about it, in following pages.
