Book Description

Introduction THE UDARA-RAGHAVA (U.R.) of Sakalya-Malla is a Mahakavya (a Grand Poem) dealing with the story of the Ramayana. It is available in 9 Cantos (only), and there are about 890 verses in all. The work was first published from Bombay in the year 1893. Copies of the work are not at all available. Only a few Libraries may have a copy, where again the printed pages, being very old, would be crumbling on a mere touch of the finger.

There are three incomplete commentaries on the U.R., and none of these was published before. An attempt is now made by me to bring these commentaries to light, together with the basic text of the U.R. I shall soon be mentioning some details about the basic work as well as the available commentaries.
