As the wife of Lord Narayana, She presides over resources while He is responsible for preserving the multiple realms of existence. He rises behind Her from the waters, in His cool blue-skinned glory. In His hands are the signature dharmachakra (existential wheel) and the conch. Behind is haloed head is the hood of the Sheshanaga, on whose body He had lain in slumber and dreamt up the existential multitude. Even He is adorned in gold and holds a lotus in the hand that He is blessing devotees with.
The motifs that flank the divine couple are each traditional and replete with meaning. A pair of ornamented white elephants flank the Lord Narayana, their trunks raised in veneration. A series of lotuses seem to be floating up to the dusky heavens. They emerge from the lifelike azure waters that dominate the foreground.
