This easy-to-use guidebook eet aaa Coen visualization techniques that can be used to learn how to "cut the ties that bind" us to old situations, old behaviour patterns, old habits. When we learn to cennect with the "High C"or the Real Self, we are able to let go of the past and allow ourselves a new brighter future. Letting go of old habits can be fun! This workbook has been used by therapists, group, and people who are working with the techniques outlined by Phyllis Krystal in workshops she has given all over the world. Readers who have not experienced these workshop: may have read her books: Cutting the Ties that - Bind, Cutting More Ties that Bind, and her recently published Taming Our Monkey Mind, which speak: to insight, detachment and gaining identity.
This workbook has been compiled as an aid for those who wish to use more effectively the method presented in the two books, Cutting the Ties That Bind and Cutting More Ties That Bind. It is suitable for individuals to use alone or with a partner, as well as for therapists working with a client. It acts as an adjunct to the two books by outlining the various techniques in a simplified step-by-step form which makes it very clear and easy for anyone to follow.
The method, as the titles indicate, can help those who wish to cut the ties that bind them to anyone or anything that acts as an authority and exerts control over them. Detachment from such control will allow them to remove the accumulated layers of conditioning which obscure the inner light of the Hi C or Real Self. The exercises that comprise this method can hetp them to free themselves from everything that prevents the Real Self from being expressed through the exterior shell or receptacle composed of the body, mind, personality and ego.
The first two books discuss the various influences, early training and conditioning, and inherent belief systems and behavior patterns that combine to form the obstructing layers. They also offer practical ways to remove them. The Hi C can then take Its rightful role as guide and ultimate authority in place of the ego.
This workbook breaks up the various techniques into simple steps by which freedom can be attained. However, in order to achieve such freedom, it is essential for each person to be willing to devote a regular, though not necessarily a large amount of time and energy, to practice them. Regular practice is absolutely necessary for lasting results to be assured, just as with any other learning process. Practice, perseverance and patience are required to impress the subconscious mind with any new message before it can begin to act upon it.
Phyllis Krystal is a Psychotherapist of the Jung and Erikson schools. She was Born in England, lives in Los Angeles, and travels extensively, teaching freedom to people in the United States, Europe, Australia, South America, and England. She frequently visits with Sathya Sai Baba in India. However, it is not intended that this workbook replace the first two books, as they contain the theory of the method that makes the need for regular practice more understandable.
It has been designed to make it easier when using the method to locate the specific or appropriate exercises and relate them to the explanations in the books.
It is printed in large type for ease in reading and the pages can be laid flat on the lap, desk or table to facilitate using it, particularly when reading the directions aloud to a partner or client.
The addition of full-page diagrams of the various symbols to accompany the exercises will also aid the individual in the visualization process. A set of smaller cards displaying the symbols in color can be used to practice the techniques at home as well as providing a reminder to do so regularly.
It is hoped that the combination of the first two books, this workbook, the set of cards in color and the tapes will help more people avail themselves of this method and encourage them to put it into practice in their daily lives. For, in order to become free from any control other than the guidance of the Hi C, regular practice must be undertaken. Then it will be possible to allow It to be expressed through each person.
