The author with her experience of teaching muhurta to astrology classes conducted by Delhi Chapter-l of the Indian Council of Astrological Sciences has aimed at simplifying the subject.

The following points have been specifically dealt with in the book keeping in view the syllabus of ICAS and also the need of the modern scientific times.

3. To purchase a vehicle: Complete guidance to avail the best opportunity.
4. Marriage: Today marital happiness has become a scarcity. The ego, intolerance, outside interference and greed have posed a threat. The book provides complete guidance for marital happiness.
5. Entry into a new house: From starting construction work to entry into the new house needs a proper guidance. The book can give you a proper muhurta.
After reading the book, the election of any muhurta will become very simple.

Smt Kusum Vashistha, B.Com, jyotisha Visharada, is a senior faculty member of Delhi Chapter-I of the Indian Council of Astrological Sciences (Regd.), Chennai, a member of the Bharatiya Prachya Evam Sanatan Vigyan Sans than, Darya Ganj, Delhi, and a researcher in astrology. Her research articles have been published in many astrological journals. The author has acuqired a good know ledge of many of the topics such as Jaimini astrology, ashtakavarga, predictive astrology, horary etc. but she has expertise in marriage andmuhurta matters. She has been awarded jyotisha Kovida and [yotisha Vachaspati titles by thei ICAS (Regd.), Chennai, for her achievements in the field of astrology. In view of her experience and knowledge of astrology, The Bharatiya Prachya Evam Sana tan Vigyan Sansthan requested her to write a book. To get a good muhurta for any work or thing ensures success in it. To elect a muhurta in the present set up needs experience, concentration, and full understanding of the dasha, transit and delineation of the horoscope.

Kusumji has the right aptitude and will to meet the challenge.

The sansthan is always ready and willing to promote good writers like her by publishing standard books.

A decision to write the book on muhurta was taken on Vasanta Panchami, Samvat 2052 (24 January 1996), but the actual work started on Friday 26 April 1996 when Virgo sign was rising, Pushya nakshatra, Ashtarni tithi, shubha yoga and Bav karana were available. The Sun in exaltation sign (12°), the Moon in own house, Mercury and Venus in Taurus, Mars in Aries (own house), Jupiter in Sagittarius (own house) and Saturn in Pisces which shows four planets in own house, one exalted and others in friendly and benefic signs.

It is very difficult to attain knowledge without the grace of guru (teacher). I could never be able to teach and write astrology without guru kripa, the grace of my teachers. I express my heartiest gratitude, to them.

The encouragement from my teachers and repeated request of my students made me to write this book. Though there are many books available on muhurta, still Shri M. N. Kedar, my guru, asked m to write this book, as he was of the view that other books on the subject do not give answers to man) problems posed by the present scientific era. The authors have simply reproduced their earlier version but did not update them.
