Book Description
Preface

God speaks to us through our dreams, hunches, instincts and inner voice, opening closed doors. I receive most of my ideas for books from my dreams and imagination

Like dreams, prayer is a powerful tool to realize God. Whatever we feed our subconscious mind: false or true, good or evil, is registered as fact. When your thoughts accumulate, they become your beliefs and beliefs haunt your mind. The mind is vast ocean of potential. You can dive into it. Surf it, float on it, swim in it, play and have fun in it.

A Devotee asked Ramkrishna Paramhansa 'Sir, is God real and can I see him? Ramkrishna replied, 'Yes, God is real. I see him just as I see you or any other object around me.' He devotee continued, 'Can I also see Him as you do?' Said the Sage, 'Yet you can, if the intensity of a drowning man longing for fresh air; or the intensity of a mother longing for the life of her only child in the grip of serious illness. If your longing for God is at least a fraction of the longing which Radha had for Krishna, then you will see God.'

Tarot is a pictorial system with a divine message. Tarot cards can be interpreted as the message of God; a true voice of God. You can hear this voice if you have the intensity to read into the images of the cards. The final judge therefore is you, who can interpret the meaning of the cards. Tarot readings are a combination of intuition, skill knowledge To get the most out of the cards, it is therefore suggested that they are read by those who are competent in the art of tarot reading.

Introduction

Tarot Reading: A Basic Guide

The Greeks of old depicted the Fates as three unbending goddesses-Atropos, Clotho and Lachesis. Atropos with her shears cut the cloth which Clotho had spun with her spindle and which Lachesis had measured with her rod. Both God and man had little or no effect on the decisions made by these three relentless figures.

We may be in a position to check our decisions and our way of thinking and consciously choose the way we want to lead our life. Nonetheless, we do notice the presence of other factors which play an important role in influencing all of these. Once you are familiar with he concept behind Tarot cards, you will begin to understand that they represent an antilogy of sorts: that one's life may be a combination of what is destined and what we can control, and who is actually responsible for the complex occurrences in one's life can not be ascertained. The tarot may, over time and with experience, be able to reflect these cryptic designs.

Interpreting A Reading

The Tarot deck is composed of seventy-eight cards, which are divided into two parts. The Major Arcana consists of twenty-two card and the Minor Arcana of fifty-six cards, which include suits of pentacles (or coins), cups, swords and wands. These cards deal with day-to-day experiences, people and influences in our lives. The Major Arcana reflects the turning points in our lives: triumphs, tragedies and so on.

The tarot cares are dealt to create a forecast or overview of a person's situation. Only experience and familiarity with the cards can help you to be fluent in your interpretations, but reading about the art of tarot in books, such as this one, is a good beginning. Intuition plays a crucial role, too. This too will develop when you are more familiar with the images on the cards and open to what they suggest to you.

Approach your reading with good sense and humour. Never use the cards to impose a moral judgement or world view on another person. Any advice you do offer should take the form of encouraging someone to live their dreams or be strictly practical. It is also advisable to discourage complete dependency on you, as a reader, or on the cards. In this way you should avoid the murky waters of control, spiritual superiority and emotional manipulation. A reading is only a spiritual weather report and it is up to the inquirer how he or she chooses to deal with the prevailing cosmic climate.

You should keep in mind never to read tarot cards when either you or the person you are reading for is upset, disturbed, angry or ill.
