This book is written in simple and lucid language and the contents are crystal-clear. It has been tried to cover all the aspects required to learn, understand and speak Hindi.

A Little knowledge of Hindi can provide a great help to a percent Indians can understand and speak English, so an English speaking tourist do not feel much problem in five star hotels and at the time of visiting historical places. But in markets and at common places, while travelling in a bus or rain, some knowledge of Hindi is a must. If you can speak and understand Hindi, your tour of India will become the most joyful event for you. You will not only see this vast country properly, but also may understand the people and the culture of this old civilization.

Hindi is a live language. Hundreds of English words are used in Hindi as original Hindi words. Rules of grammar are not very hard and fast in Hindi, so mistakes made by beginner in speaking does not create any problem It is the reason that translation of English sentences into Hindi is much more easier, and you can learn it in two or three days, without any tutor. Thousands of words, phrases and sentences of English are also collected in the book with their equivalent Hindi words and sentences. Hindi words are written in Hindi script with Roman for your convenience. For pronunciation of words and sentences hundreds of sounds are used. Hindi has a letter or sign for every sound. On the other hand English alphabet contains only twenty six letters, so one letter produces upto six distinct sounds in different words. Full and half consonants are written sound in same way. For mixed sound o an vowel with a consonants vowel letters is written in English. Silent letters create a big problem in reading and writing, so the spelling of every word is a must to learn by heart. But there is no need to contains thirty six consonants in full and half forms. There are sixteen vowel letters with their sings for joining wih consonants. So every word is pronounced according to its script, without leaving any letter or sign When you understand Hindi alphabet properly, learning Hindi will become a joyful game for you.
