Viraha -The Symphony of Separation
The Audio CD titled Viraha (The Symphony of Separation), has flute(Odakkuzhal) rendition by Kudamaloor Janardanan, conveying the pangs of separation. Even as inseparable minds separate, the ensuing agony is shared through Swaras and Ragas. Raga itself means love. Hearts that pine for reunion with the beloved, overflow with song, expressing the eternal bond of love. Three ragas namely Pushpalathika, Sarasang and Hemavathi have been used in the composition of Viraha.
Viraha, the sweet sorrow of separation immortalized in the love of Radha & Krishna is rendered poignantly on flute by Kudamaloor Janardanan.
Kudamaloor Janardanan is a self-taught flautist, who has a unique style of playing. He has given many concerts and participated in many musical festivals. He is also an expert in Violin and in vocal music. Though a graduate in Violin from Madras University, Flute is his utmost passion.
