Hindu life and belief is rooted in a mythology of gods and goddesses. Ganesha, one of the many deities, holds an exalted position not only in Brahmanical faith but also in other contemporary religions of India.

On an oval pedestal stands the image of Nrtta Ganesha in atibhanga position with the right leg bent towards the right, resting on the toes. The left leg supports the weight of the body and stretches towards the left. The normal hands make a dancing pose, whereas the rear two hold a disc and a conch shell respectively. Ganesha's crown and the ornaments sparkle in this batik. Behind the crowned head is a prabhavali. At his feet sit a small mouse discreetly, holding a modaka in the hand. Around Ganesha and his vahana - the mouse, is a light aura, which gets prominent by two shades of blue on either side. It is further enhanced by the dark coloured crackle, which is so characteristic of batik.

Making use of dichromatic palette, the craftsman has made it aesthetically astounding.
