A painting in kalamkari technique, the depiction of which requires no introduction. This one scene from Mahabharata has been immortalized not because of artistic endeavours which are undoubtedly superb but for being a major turning point in the events of the great battle of Mahabharata. History and legend would have told a different tale if it wasn't for the sermons by Krishna to Arjuna, popularly known as the Geeta.

This painting has a major implication as mentioned above but pictorially also it is a master piece. Four majestic and caparisoned horses draw a wonderfully decorated chariot carrying Krishna and Arjuna in the battlefield. Victory flags and flowers decorate the chariot. Arjuna has just realized the futility of fighting and killing all for the sake of a patch of land called a kingdom. Here, he sits with folded hands and pleading eyes seeking help from Krishna. Krishna the charioteer, friend, and guide of Arjuna, holding a horse whip in one hand gestures with the other explaining that Arjuna must act fearlessly and must do so without the desire for reward or glory or even success. Right action, says Krishna, is that which is free from all desires - even the desire for success. At this point Krishna reveals himself to his friend and Arjuna sees the light of wisdom. Then, with a new spirit surging through him, he takes up his arms and goes into battle.
