A lady seated at the jharokha (window), holds a lotus in her left hand and the hookah in the other. The hookah is a variant of the ancient Indian tobacco pipe.

The face delineated with strong lines and a well arched eyebrow is shown in profile. This is in keeping with the general inclination of the Mughal school of Indian miniature painting.

Bedecked in jewels, this lady has an unapproachable look about her, but a look which says that she is already passionately committed to someone else. And she is convinced about her choice.

Her ample breasts fill to the brim the choli (Indian version of the blouse). From beneath this garment, the safe-keeper of these veritable mounds, is visible a small glimpse of the tip of the left nipple.
