Raga Malkaus has five wives, and Ragini Gunakali is one of them. While Raga Malkaus shows love in union, and is represented by a young man seated on a lotus, adorned by two women, his raginis are all love-lorn women. Ragini Gunakali is represented as a young lady standing on a chauki, holding a chauri in one hand, and a napkin in the other, hailing the rising sun. In the background is a temple situated in a grove. The landscape is reminiscent of Alampur on the Beas, where Raja Sansar Chand lived during his last days. The lady is in a sorrowful mood, pining for her absent lover.
