Hindu art combines imagery and allegorical symbolism to represent the deity. Simple geometry such as the square and circle, inorganic, organic forms and the human figure have been used as symbols of the divine.

The left half of the batiked fabric is devoted to represent the mother goddess. It's a tribal representation. She has rounded features and wears numerous ornaments. In the right hand – the only hand visible, she holds an arrow. An arrow enables to annihilate the six enemies - lust, greed, false ego, illusion, attachment and envy – of the devotees. On either side of her are the sun and the moon – the two being gods of nature, representing the entire cosmos here. The left–half of the canvas carries tiles of various dimensions with auspicious symbols and markings – some for bounty, fertility and others for good luck.

These auspicious symbols are important components of a visual language. The artist has used appropriate colour palette to signify energy, purity and devotion. Hence colours have not only made it visually attractive but infused significance to these profound symbols.
