This painting, apart from presenting a delightful view of feminine beauty, narrates a tale. One of the women, dressed like a prince seems to have come straight from the scene of war. She has interrupted the game of chauser, the other lady was playing. She wants to move her to a safer place as she senses danger overhead. The lady in feminine garments is in preparation, covering herself in a thick 'chadar' which might come handy in concealing her from prying eyes.
The ladies are dressed in royal clothes. One is wearing a jama and turban like a male but femininity oozes from her features and mannerism. The weapons - shield and a sword can do little to prove otherwise. The other lady is gracefully clothed and adorned in beautiful jewelry. The features are delicate and give a vulnerable look. She is wrapping the chadar around herself and at the same time listening attentively to her friend's plan.
Deft touches of three dimensionality in architecture and in figures is quite marked. The structure i.e. the pavilion is shown front view which lends symmetry to the composition due to its placement in the center. The various layers of the terraces have carpets of floral patterns which make the painting interesting. The color scheme is mature and sober with harmonious application of red, blue and green. The depiction of the sky is used to create the distant horizon and depth in the miniature.
