Rajasthan paintings have vitality lacking in late Mughal paintings. They look similar in form but are different in content. Depiction of feminine beauty in various moods and forms is a contribution of Bundi style. The artist here has represented every turn of her head, every gesture of her hand and every curve of her body.

The serene beauty of the lady lies in her modesty. Her face is like the moon, her eyes dark and innocent like those of a deer, her eyebrows like a bow, and all these features ample to affect the heart of the viewer. She is running an errand, as she is seen carrying a casket but her heart is not in the chore. Every now and then she turns to look back, as if she is anticipating someone's arrival. She is wearing a red choli and a mustard ghagra with an aqua coloured odhini that emphasizes her curves further by the loop of the odhini across her body in front.

The terrace wall in the foreground is the only architectural feature in the painting. Its composition and description immediately impress us by the masterly use of bright colours and refined treatment of detail.
