Adi Guru Shankaracharya

Adi Guru Shankaracharya was an early Indian philosopher and theologian who amalgamated the ideologies of ancient Advaita Vedanta. He discussed the unity of Atman and Nirgun Brahman (Brahman without attributes); founder of the four mathas or monasteries namely, Govardhana, Sringeri Sarada, Dvaraka and Jyotirmatha. He is also the greatest revivalist of Advaita Vedanta.

Garbed in sacred colors of yellow dhoti and an orange stole having an astonishing golden lotus leaf border that falls smoothly on his head; Carved with perfect sleek nose and realistic eyes glowed by his divine prospects. He sits cross legged on a tiger pedestal holding the book of wisdom in his left hand and right hand held high elegantly as if preaching sermons.

This sculpture is ornamented with the ritualistic rudrakshmala hung on the neck, large red colored bindi between the brows highlighting his eternal soul, wears chandan tripundra as a veil on his arms and forehead and carries a stick that is leaned on his right elbow. The pure white stone statue of Adi Shankaracharya reflects his purity of mind and heart; attired brightly, reflecting the sharp and bold characteristics in a subtle manner.
