This bed cover, using brown, beige and cream is a fine example of appliqué work. Appliqué work is one in which a pattern is made by applying fabric to fabric. On a cream base a floral pattern is traced on which cut outs of beige and brown flowers and leaves are sewn with thin foam padding inside. Very fine and neat embroidered lines give a firm outline to each piece. The embroidered lines also form the stems and the exquisite stamen on the full bloomed flowers. The whole pattern occupies the central space, leaving the rest of the field uncluttered. Wide bands of brown form the end borders on two sides. The colours and the patterns are very aesthetically used.
Two large sized pillow covers accompany the bedcover. They have neat folds for a frill on all four sides. One horizontal side has a fairly big triangle in cream colour on the brown pillow cases. On that triangle, a semi-bloomed bud in beige and brown stand alone. The pillow covers also have a light padding of foam which lends them softness and firmness.
