Here on an unbleached off-white sheet are flowers in red, blue and an occasional brown on a meandering and delicate black stem. The entire field constitutes of this pattern. The border is quite wide, running all the four sides of the sheet. It consists of stripes of varying width - some with a red base and blue flowers, others with cream base and coffee brown prints. These broad design bands zone the textile scheme. Flowers rarely found in the arid areas of Rajasthan frequently appear on their printed materials.
Based on the local variety, the production of hand printed textiles in Rajasthan has assumed an export oriented character, one of its major attractions being that in this age of synthetic dyes, a fairly large group of people still work with vegetable dyes.
Not only is this bed cover attractive in design and colour, it is most convenient to wash, what with the fast colours and light texture.
