You cannot help but like this sheet blooming with blossoms without fragrance but giving joy like the scented ones. The thorny stem of the roses runs diagonally across the field, carrying leaves, semi-open buds, and full bloomed flowers in its wake. The art of printing fabrics, like all other handicrafts processed in India, is rooted in ancient tradition and combines simplicity of form with a deep understanding of colour. Using pink and red, together with green, the designer has created the 'bel' pattern in a most attractive manner.
The aesthetic colours and patterns are continued on the three-band border. The middle band is wide sporting the architectural arch with bouquets of flowers. The two narrower bands on either side of this have a running vine of raceme with occasional flowers. The pink, green and red is mixed and matched in each band differently. But together, it appears as a harmonious blend of colour and design.
And they say, life is not a bed of roses!
