Panipat in Haryana has done pioneering work in the development of experimental handloom weaves, especially with coarse cotton, producing a large variety of fabrics and furnishing. This bed sheet with twin pillow covers has alternating bright and sober shades. It is divided into blue, beige and white rectangles. The blue has white print and the beige and white have blue pattern. The curling vines and leaves make the pattern. Most of the sheet is blue and white with beige rectangles aesthetically cutting across them. The design not only speaks of a Mughal influence but seems lifted off the wall of any Islamic architecture.
Since it is a bed sheet and does not need to hang on both sides, it does not sport a border. Being tucked in would, any ways conceal it. The cool blue and white colours have soothing effect. This bed sheet is ideal for summers, not only because of the colours but also because of cotton base.
