This white printed calico sheet is refreshingly cool in the hot summer months. The white is pure and pleasing to the eyes, on the field are grey squares with a crackle effect, having brown outline. Very judiciously placed on the sheet is a wide band of grey with the same crackle effect that reminds one of the batik technique. Judiciously because this band does not form a border on all sides or the two sides as is the normal placement. This falls on the lower half of the bed when the sheet is spread, not where a border should be but above. It has an arabesque pattern. In order to brighten up the sober effect of light colours, sparkling orange and luminous turquoise weave their way in and out of the white and grey. There are orange and turquoise stripes above and below this band within which are smaller grey squares. The sheet has a sober effect and yet not quite.
Pristine white pillow covers with small grey squares accompany this sheet. On one side of the pillow cover is an orange band with white crackle. It is held within a brown stripe and has three widely spaced squares.
