When Neeraj proposed to Anita she readily accepted, only to leave him at the lurch at the registrar’s office. She refused to meet him after that. In desperation when he left for Delhi he got a letter from her imploring him to come back. Back in Bombay he learnt that she committed suicide. Why? The question hunted him.
